Our Mission

The Akamba Cultural Center & Museum was founded to safeguard Kamba history, art, language, and living traditions. Our main objective is to preserve tagible and intagible heritage of the Akamba people of Eastern Kenya. We do this for posterity, for the future generations and for global heritage. We collect, document, and exhibit artifacts, and we host cultural events that keep knowledge active within the community.
